Curing hiccups

I was googling the word “intractable”, just to make sure I wasn’t misusing it too egregiously in the post I just put up… and right there, the fifth result on the very first page, was a hiccup cure.

Doesn’t everyone who’s ever had the hiccups want to know a cure? And this is not just “my grandma always said breathing into a paper bag would do it, and it seemed to work sometimes”, but an abstract of a paper on the NIH.gov website.

Termination of intractable hiccups

Considerations:

On the one hand, persistent hiccups are frustrating and potentially embarrassing, particularly if you need to interact with other people coherently (suppose you’re standing at a microphone addressing a crowd of people).

On the other hand, if embarrassment is at all a concern, this solution is perhaps not for you if you are standing at a microphone in front of a crowd of people. Unless perhaps the podium is quite… comprehensive?

hey! I noticed you browsed Google for a hiccup cure. You may have come across mine, and not noticed it. Although it’s isn’t 100% successful for the medical hiccup cases that go on for days, it has never failed me even once, and has about a 980% success rate without props or embarrassing scares.

ALL HICCUP CURES ARE THE SAME CURE!

I can’t even TELL you how many things digital rectal massage can cure, besides hiccups. How many times have I been coincidentally engaging in DRM, when surprise! all of a sudden, my goiter was GONE! Nasty rash? Polio? Just a dab of DRM will do ya!
